TOPIC: Update on AT software upgrades and performance

We have to move AT onto its own virtual server. Expect AT to be better after the move.

There will be minimal shutdown of the website (about 10 mins) to move it to a new server. It will probably happen middle of the next week.

After the upgrade, our priority will be -
- Shout box for quick messaging
- Resolve the photo album issues (we are considering using a flickr album)

Please let us know if you like to see anything else.

I have a suggestion for title of the shoutbox :- "Fighting Box" LOL

Can you also remove these silly numbers that I have to type with every message I post. Sometimes I type the code wrong and typed information is lost and is not recoverable.

WOW fighting box... good one. But not everyone fights except A and Penn

Those are not silly numbers... but to avoid spamming. Once even i was getting irritated to type those numbers. But when you login with your ID and post, you need not have to type those numbers (silly numbers ) Your karma will increase (as DM and LFC says) if you login and post

I had the same issue of losing the post if not submitted for long time. So, later i started copying the whole message before hitting the "submit" button. So this might help you even when wrong code is typed or submitting after long time.

1. Fight between fiction and facts

Fiction:- Penn writing about a flag which he claims confederation flag though schools don't tell how it looks like

Fact:- I wrote that confederation was not successful with hisotorical data.

2. Fight between sensation and objectivity

Fiction:- Per Penn, North Carolina culture has something to do with confederation because somewhere Penn made it up. People on NJ kill if they someone with confederation flag.

Objective:- Per A , Confederation is dead in 1862. American culture is common. There is no data about people in NJ even seeing confederation flag.

3. Fight between Passimism and Reality

Passimism:- Per Penn, an American law Indians are not allowed in university. He made it like that.

Reality:- Per A, the law is to encourage the communities who are not educated.

It is not personal fight. It is difference in thinking and values.

4. Fight between Past and Present

Past:- Per Pann, Indians think British are still kings and lick their...whatever he said.

Present:- Per A, Indians go for money. Money counts everywhere.

It has not been scheduled yet. I will know 2 days in advance and I announce it. Although, I said it takes about 10 minutes, it would probably be unnoticeable (few seconds).

Is it possible to make 'Facebook' style wall? However little bit more secure.

Facebook style wall already exists. The wall is at 2 levels -

1. Personal Wall. Owner can enable or disable writing on wall at various levels - Personal, Friends, Everyone
2. Group Wall.

To set the wall security for personal wall -
1. Go to community
2. Login
3. From menu choose Application/My Application
4. Click on Privacy and select the approprite privacy

Let me know if you are looking specifically for something.

If your upgrade is scheduled at 6AM, you can take as much as 4 hours. I don't wake up before 10AM on Thursdays.
