TOPIC: Indian Driving license Karnataka & WB valid in US

Hi All

We are moving to US in January,I am coming to Raleigh,my wife may be to some other location and not finalized and we have a 2 and half yr kid.

We would like to know whether Indian License is valid for some time?Any idea how much time it is valid in NC and other states?

It is extremely important for my wife as she has to drop my kid to daycare and all,so need your help on this matter.

You can rent a car from Hertz etc using Indian license in NC. Pls remeber, they will need a credit card (not debit) for you to make a reservation. Actual payment when you return the car can be done in any form (debit, credit, cash etc).
Hence make sure, you get an international cc.

If you want to drive an own car, you probably will need NC license. Its because, you will need insurance to drive the car.

if you are a regular driver in India, it will be easy to get license in NC.
