This is the list of top 500 high schools in USA. Wake county high schools are not even in 500s??

So why people are paying crazily for homes here???

Schools are just one of the indicators that contribute to the desiribility of a place. Jobs, low crime rate, weather, low real estate prices (compared to NJ/DC/VA) are others.
