LFC..
You have done it again..
made me go away from AT and look for something to eat!
Well it is a nice easy recipe. I'm thinking can we do it with Paneer also?

Yes...why not with paneer? It will taste yummy and better than those restaurant paneer dishes which are heavily loaded with whipping cream...but tofu will be ligher, healthier, cheaper option.

You can also use boiled chayote, winter melon,Muli...just make sure you use lots of ginger, galic, green chili,cilantro..It tastes zesty...and goes well with paratha, roti, rice.

LFC,

Doesn't tofu needs to be fried or cooked in your dish?

Satish, I didn't cook it...added marinated tofu in yogurt but if you feel it odd then ...slightly stirfry tofu cubes with crushed ginger, garlic, green chilies...I wanted to retain soft tofu texture so avoided pre-frying it. I made that correction in recipe. :)

LFC,

I never knew that Tofu can be consumed raw. Thanks for educating. This will make it healthier (no frying) and quicker. According to wikipedia, In china it is mostly consumed raw after marinating with herbs and Soy sauce. To begin with Soy beans is boiled before making Soy Milk and then tofu. So, cooking is not necessary.

Thanks for the recipe (and beautiful picture)!!

I thought Tofu can be consumed raw - I have seen it in so many salad-bars (esp fresh choice) - i always added a little tabasco to get some flavor out of tofu ;)

Here is one more recipe with tofu...If you have leftover roti or paratha, stir fry it with tofu and herbs..enjoy as breakfast or light meal. ( Phodnichi Poli - Marathi / vagareli Roti - Gujrati) I don't know if south indians make any dish out of left over rotis? I have used two multigrain enriched Methi parathas.

I was wondering how could LFC be missing while discussing healthy foods - good combination of Tofu and left-over methi-paratha;)

Another favourite of mine - found in most chinese restaurant but home-made - loaded with protiens and healthy cals:

Garlic,Tofu,Brocolli, spring onions - stir fry with some soy sauce.

Manoj, Thanks. There is lot of scope to tweak as per your choices..add scrambled eggs, carrots, corn or your choice of veggie. Try it sometime.

Fav, other food discussion prompted me to post this dish...Chinese style stirfries are my favorite too..I start with dry red chili tadka and add some soy sauce, vinegar and touch of brown sugar..and garnish with fresh basil leaves..this gives a bit thai twist to chinese stir fry.

I like the idea of the peanuts - gives the crunchiness and adds to the essential nutritions!

Pulp, If you don't like capsicum try with your favorite subzi. I can think of green beans, cauliflower, chayote, tindora and with spinach it tastes delicious.

@ Manoj fan and Sanju.. thanks.
