A documentary about the history of Indians in Guyana during the 1800's

 

The general public is invited to attend a free screening of Echoes from the Plantation, a documentary drama about the history of Indians in Guyana. The screening will take place on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Hamilton Hall, Room 100, 102 Emerson Drive in Chapel Hill at 7:30pm. In 1838, after the British ended the transatlantic slave trade, Indians, contracted as indentured servants, were sent to Guyana to work on the sugar cane plantation.
