Nagi ReddyMr. Reddy had received PhD in Bio-chemistry from Madras University and came to US in 1987 for his post-doctoral study. He came to Raleigh in 1993 to work as scientist for National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. In 1995, he opened Triangle Indian Market in Cary's Chatham Square to help people of Indian heritage find ethnic products and as a means to meet other Indian people in the area. The Chatham square later attracted many Indian businesses and is now known as "Little India". He continued to work as scientist and managed the store. Besides the Triangle Indian market he is part-owner of Udupi cafe a sumptuous vegetarian restaurant and is a partner in Galaxy Cinema at Cary Towne Boulevard. He also investor of SRR real estate group in Bangalore, India.

Kubi: Tell me about the hurdles in your life?

Nagi Reddy: I had to walk up to 5 miles to my school in my childhood.  This incident illustrates the challenges for village kids in receiving even a basic education.


Kubi: Who is your role model?

Nagi Reddy: I believe in hard work rather than role models.


Kubi: Tell me your darest move.

Nagi Reddy: I got into grocery business after being a scientist and after achieving a great success in education.


Kubi: Tell me about one thing that you wanted to be, but you couldn't be

Nagi Reddy: While growing up, I wanted to be a medical Doctor and help people. But I could not become a doctor, since I did not had proper guidance until my high school years.


Kubi: How do you balance work and family?

Nagi Reddy: It is tough for the family. I appreciate my wife Neeraja for her support in bringing up the family.  I wouldn't be so successful without her excellent support.


Kubi: How do you sum up your life?

Nagi Reddy: Born in a small village in Andhra Pradesh and hailed from a farmer family. I was self motivated and hard working. I would like to provide good service to people.


kubi: What do you advice for new entrepreneurs?

Nagi Reddy: Gain customer confidence. Be truthful and don't be greedy. Be fair to everyone and help them to grow with you.
